The contributions submitted to the conference will be considered for publication, after peer-review procedure, in special issues of Spectrochimica Acta Part A (SAA) and Spectrochimica Acta Part B (SAB) Journals of Elsevier. See below information of SAA. Information about SAB will be available later.
(for participants of the CSI XLI who use mainly molecular spectroscopy techniques)
The schedule for paper submission and VSI processing has now been set up in agreement with the Publisher (“Elsevier”), and your attention is drawn to the timelines, including deadlines, and some most important points which, if followed, could help us prepare a very interesting, informative and representative collection of papers to be rapidly reviewed and published in Spectrochim. Acta Part A: Mol. Biomol. Spectrosc. (SAA).
TIMELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION AND PROCESSING for the SAA VSI
- Start of manuscript submission (via the SAA online system): 01.09.2019
- Deadline for manuscript submission: 20.11.2019
- Date by which final decisions will be made on all manuscripts: 29.02.2020
- Date of final publication of the VSI: 01.05.2020
All submitted, peer-reviewed, revised and accepted papers will be published immediately online (and shortly afterwards in the final form) in regular Volumes; papers will be collected under the Special Issue title on ScienceDirect at the same time. My experience as Guest Editor of the previous VSI of SAA shows that the summer period is not effective for submitting manuscripts (and for finding expert reviewers), so please prepare your manuscripts after the CSI XLI meeting and submit them starting from 1 Sept 2019 (via the SAA submission portal; note that the paper type should be chosen as “VSI: CSI XLI 2019”) preferably well before the deadline. While the strict reviewing standards will be maintained, in order to achieve the goal, it may be reasonable to shorten the time allowed both for reviewing (2 weeks instead of usual 3–4 weeks) and, particularly, for making recommended revisions (maximum 1 month instead of usual 2–3 months). Thus, highly qualified CSI participants who might be invited as potential reviewers are kindly requested to be prepared and to assist us in fulfilling this task whenever possible by agreeing to review and observing the time allowed to complete their reports. The requirement of the Publisher is to adhere to the above timelines for submission and review, so that those accepted manuscripts which fail to meet the deadlines may be excluded from the VSI (while still published in regular issues of SAA).
Thank you all in advance for your understanding and helpful assistance.
