   1. Abstract submission

When submitting an abstract, you will be required to provide the following information in the portal and in your abstract respectively.

Portal

Abstract title (should reflect the content of the presentation)

Name, affiliation and contact details of the corresponding (presenting) Author

Preferred presentation type (Oral presentation or Poster)

Abstract (details are specified in the Template)

Early submission of abstracts is recommended. The closing date is January 20th, 2019.

Once your work has been accepted by the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Committee, then you can proceed to Registration and Payment (which opens at February 25th, 2019) for the conference. The early payment (before April 26th, 2019) assures the publication of your work in the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Conference booklet.

If you will pay close the conference date or in situ, please send an email to the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Committee (Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo.) to ask for your work to be published in the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Conference booklet.

Please note: Early Bird Registrations close on March 17th, 2019.

1.1. Abstract template

Oral and poster presenters are required to download and use the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Abstract Template to format their Abstract.

Please note: The format of, and instructions for, the template will need to be followed for the abstract to be considered for review. Abstracts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format only (.doc or .docx). Please ensure your abstract is no more than one page, including figures (optional) and references.

1.2. Sending a second (or more) abstracts

At the end of a new abstract submitted, a code will be generated which can be used to follow the status of the abstract or to submit more abstracts.

To submit a second (or more) abstract can be done in two ways:

  1. As a new abstract, or
  2. As a second abstract and use the code, which was generated after submitted the first abstract. The system will identify the code and use personal data previously introduced and it will be only necessary to complete the abstract information section.

   2. Presentation types

There will be TWO presentation types (Oral and Poster) at CSIXLI-LAMLIBS. Both are equally valued contributions. Different presentation formats may be best suited to different kinds of content. Delegates are encouraged to choose their preferred presentation format. However, the final presentation type will be determined by the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Organizing Committee.

   3. Conference session themes

Authors of abstracts for both oral and poster presentation types are required to categorise their abstract to assist the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Organizing Committee with their task of grouping related presentations.

Topic areas are listed in Sessions Information section.

   4. Abstract selection criteria

The CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Organizing Committee will attempt to accommodate the preferred presentation type for all delegates. The number of oral presentations that can be accommodated in the programme is limited, hence the number of delegates requesting oral presentations may exceed the places available. If the demand for oral presentations exceeds the available time slots, the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Organizing Committee will review all abstracts for oral presentations offering some delegates, who request oral presentations, the option of presenting a poster.

The criteria used to assess Abstracts is expected to include:

  • Relevance to the theme/topic area and objectives of CSIXLI-LAMLIBS
  • Scientific, technical or industrial merit, originality and interest
  • Compliance with the format requirements for Abstracts (detailed in the Abstract Template)

   5. Grants application

The Colloquium Spectroscopicum Internationale 2019 and I Latin American Meeting on LIBS promotes the participation of undergraduate and graduate students by grants to attend the conference.

Requirements

To apply to a student grant is possible at the time of abstract submit and the next documentation is mandatory (in pdf format).

A valid student identification

If it is not done at that moment always is possible to send an email to CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Committee (Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo.) to be considered.

Important information

The number of grants is limited depending to the funds of the CSIXLI-LAMLIBS.

The student selected must attended the whole conference and be available to help the Local Organizing Committee with the logistics.

There will be two kind of grants:

  1. The first will include the Registration Fee for CSIXLI-LAMLIBS conference and accommodation (Hotel in sharing room with another student) during the conference (from June 9th to June 14th).
  2. The second will include only the Registration Fee for CSIXLI-LAMLIBS conference.

   6. Letter of Invitation (for Visa)

If you require a letter of invitation for Visa application purposes, you can ask for it at the same time when you are submitting an abstract. If it is not done at that moment always is possible to send an email to CSIXLI-LAMLIBS Committee (Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo.) to ask for it.
